All members are required to uphold the following Code of Conduct.
These codes are universally enforceable.
1.1.All members will treat each other with respect.
1.2.All members will represent the Brigade in a courteous and professional manner.
1.3. All members will respect the Chain of Command.
1.4. All members are not required to use Push-to-talk (PTT) while on the teamspeak server. Abuse of this policy will result in you being assigned a FORCED Push To Talk server group. Continued voice disruption will result in removal from the server.
1.5. All members will avoid double transmitting on TS and ingame voice, either through removing or changing the ingame voice keybind, changing channels is not sufficient.
2. Serious Offenses
2.1.Lying on your application.
2.2.Misrepresenting a military service.
2.3.Representing the BCT in an unprofessional manner.
2.4. Utilizing BCT resources (including content) to benefit the administration of another community.
2.5.Incurring a charge-back on any donations made.
2.6.Disrespect towards other members of the BCT.
2.7.Sharing or distributing graphic material on any 17th BCT controlled platform including but not limited to Teamspeak, our website (including forums), in game, or on our steam group. Graphic material includes but is not limited to Pornography, kill videos, and racially offensive content.
3. Membership Policies
3.1. After 35 days of inactivity (not logging into website), members will be moved into "inactive" status and have their authority and abilities suspended.
3.2. If you are unable to be active due to life circumstances (e.g. deployment, hardship), please post in the LOA (Leave of Absence) forum so Command can preserve your status. Please include an ETA on when you will return.
4.1Issues of dispute shall only be discussed with relevant parties and the relevant Unit Lead in a private setting. If a Unit Lead is not available, relevant parties will endeavor to inform command staff as soon as possible of the dispute and resolution, if any.
4.2Unit Leads are permitted to enforce Game Server rules.
4.3Unit Leads may require squad members to adhere to restrictions regarding kit, uniform, & actions during missions at their own discretion.
5. Team Regulations Development Guidelines
5.1. Team Regulations should be sensible, address reasonable concerns, and support a fun and mature teamwork environment within the BCT.
5.2. Regulations should not be arbitrary in nature, and serve a clear and effective purpose.
5.3.Some areas that are common to have additional regulation could be:
5.3.1Realism (teams may only wear unit approved uniform, and must have their units standard loadout, safe all weapons)
5.3.2Training/Skill development (new applicants must complete basic training within 14 days of joining)
5.3.3Logistics (Training staff must provide a written report to the Section Lead before Ribbons and quals will be awarded)
5.4Command Staff reserves the right to modify or remove regulations if deemed they do not support the 17th BCT brand or operations.
6. Events Calender
6.1Events must be scheduled at least 24hrs prior to event start.
6.2Events should properly reflect the entire anticipated duration, including preparation and AARs.
The following encompass all units within the 17th BCT.
1. General Rules
1.1All members will treat each other with dignity and respect, regardless of “Tabbed” status, rank, or responsibility.
1.2Currently used radio channels during all trainings or operations regardless of size or duration will be listed in “Side Channel” on the map to ease transition of all new “JIP” (Join In Progress) players and to maintain cohesive communications throughout the event.
1.3 We are a diverse group of individuals and as such will refrain from using racist, sexist, or otherwise demoralizing speech towards each other or any other player they come across.
2. Entering game
2.1When joining an event, players will refrain from communicating over TS (Teamspeak) until they are in game and TFAR has activated.
2.2Unauthorized use of friendly assets including but not limited to air, land, and sea vehicles is strictly forbidden. Permission must be granted from the current command element. If command is unavailable permission may be obtained from the highest ranking individual taking part in the event.
2.2.1Using a slot when joining that is not your own assignment is not allowed. If the player feels that they need to fill that role they must ask permission and be acknowledged by a commanding representative before doing so. Failure to acknowledge this rule may result in another players inability to fill a role they are authorized to take and weaken the battle-readiness of the mission.
2.3The player placed in charge of a contract will remain in that position unless relieved from that duty by a mutual consent or disconnection.
2.3.1Unit Leads will refrain from relieving Team Leads of their duties mid-operation unless deemed necessary.
2.4All players will don the appropriate load outs during all 17th BCT events.
2.4.1 You may keep your current loadout during mission briefings and AAR's so long as your weapon is put on safe and on your back.
2.4.2Pilot Helmets will be removed for all mission briefings and AAR’s (After Action Report) for any and all events.
2.4.2All other kits will be donned in direct relation to the player slot chosen at the time of entry to the game unless otherwise specified by an NCO or otherwise designated Fire Team Leader.
3. In Game
3.1At no time will any player fire his weapon negligently during any event.
3.1.1 If a player fires his/her weapon negligently during a mission, he or she will lose their weapon until they can source a new one.
3.1.2 If a player fires his/her weapon negligently during training, he or she will lose their weapon and kit until the next stage of training takes place.
3.2At no time will any player knowingly fire at a friendly unit.
3.3During official operations, players will refrain from misusing or purposefully crashing vehicles.
3.4During official operations, players will refrain from knowingly interfering with or disrupting events such as a trainings, briefings, and AARs. It is the players responsibility to not be an annoyance to ground forces.
4. Post Mission
4.1After Action Reports will be conducted at the end of the mission at the selection screen (out of game), or at a designated spot in the mission, and will adhere to the following structure:
- Zeus will speak on Pros/Cons/Observations (If applicable)
- Command will speak on Pros/Cons/Observations
- Squad Leaders will speak on Pros/Cons/Observations
- NCOs and Team Leaders will speak on Pros/Cons/Observations
- 114th SOAR Leader will speak on Pros/Cons/Observations
- 32nd Logistical Studies Leader will speak on Pros/Cons/Observations
- Unit Leads will announce promotions/unit specific announcements
- Command will announce any unit-specific announcements
- All members will at this point be dismissed from the standard AAR however they will be invited to remain in channel to further discuss AAR down to fireteam level.
5. Formal Actions
5.1While a player is instructed to be in a non-tactical formation they are required to not speak unless called upon, or cause any distraction in which might needlessly delay the proceedings of the leaders of the formation.
